Could I put my laptop or the battery in the refrigerator to cool it down for like 10 minutes?

My laptop becomes so hot that it has left burn marks on me, not bad like visible marks that stay there 4 days, and hurts to type, and this is just after like having it plugged in for an hour. My grandma bought it for me at Circuit City so I can’t take it back and I’ve already sent it to Sony and they just replaced the battery but its still that hot. It literaly hurts to even use it. I already have it on a laptop cooling pad. I even put it on top of the fan sometimes. Its still that hot. Can I put it in the fridge just to cool it down for a while or will that kill it?

Sure You could but not for to long as it might damage the screen etc. but if it is getting that hot I would take it to Geek Squad and see if they can fix it. Good Luck!

DO NOT EVER DO THAT. Your battery will get out of order permanently. Because sudden change in temperature may harm the battery. You have to go to service center and tell your problem. I feel you have problem with the Battery charger.

if you have the laptop plugged into the ac outlet just remove the battery

DO NOT put it in the refrigerator or in the freezer or anything of that sort! That is a fairly risky thing to do. Batteries very dangerous things to mess with. Sudden temperature changes like putting a hot battery into a refrigerator could cause the battery to leak or even explode. You can probably put it in front of a fan or something. Also, there are little stands you can buy for laptops that you hook onto the bottom that help with ventilation and you can buy these little tables that slide over your lap that are made specifically to keep your legs from getting burned and keeping the laptop from getting heat damage. Heat is the absolute #1 killer of laptops.

Not a good idea at all, that will cause condensation and will fry your P. C. Perhaps have the fan replaced.
