I completely forgot my laptop is a 17″ widescreen today and I bought a Targus cooling pad from Walmart. It’s a bit smaller 9″ x 11.75″. Will it be just as effective? Also I mostly use my laptop on my coffee table. Is it wise to use my cooling pad when it’s on the coffee table? It feels wierd with the cooling pad under it but if I should use it I’ll get used to it. The cooling pad just makes my laptop sit higher than I’m used to. Thanks for reading.

i have the same problem i just get used to it …. the cooling pad makes a huge difference when i play games it saves my legs from getting burned
As long as you get the air circulating under the laptop you’ll have a beneficial effect. Before I bought a real cooling pad, I put my laptop on a couple of strips of wood to raise it up about 1/4 inch. Then I aimed one of those small personal fans with the soft flexible safety blades at the laptop. Made a big difference. The Targus should work just fine.
