My laptop keeps overheating even though I have it on a cooling fan. How can I make it work right?

I have a laptop cooling tray that both elevates and cools the laptop and it still overheats. What do I do?

Clean the vents and make sure the fan works.

Go here and grab the free version of Notebook Hardware Control

CPU must be running on max power always to get it hot like that even with a cooling fan. Also if the unit shuts down on you then the CPU cooling fan inside the laptop could have become faulty.

Do you have any pets in the house? It could be that dog/cat hair is caught in the fan – it’s usually pretty easy to take the plate over the fan off and clean it out. Good luck!

better clean it fast before motherboard dies on you if it happens frequently after you have cleaned it then it a motherboard problem and if it is under waranty get it fixed and if it not under waranty there is no reason to get it fixed u will get a better new one
