So I just bought a new laptop, and I’m considering buying a chill pad. I’m not totally sure yet, and there are so many out there, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on whether or not to get one and if so, what kind?

You know, I haven’t tried one. But I keep thinking, heat rises and cold sinks…how exactly does the gel pad UNDER the computer help?

it works by two fans underneith that suck the hot air down and out of the laptop. they work real well, i have one and can really notice the difference in the heat from the laptop, keeps it much cooler which will extend the life of the laptop

laptop cooling pads are great. they preserve your laptop and your lap at the same time. your computer components lasts a lot longer and runs better when they’re cooler. i’ve tried a few brands and so far i think antecs are the best. they keep the laptops cooler by sucking the hot air out not blowing the cold air to the laptop. i thought that the cool air would help more but sucking the hot air out actually kept my laptop cooler. i know this because my laptop has an annoying loud fan and it runs a lot less with the antec.
