I know it’s a pretty dumb question, but what i mean by that is if it will still cool my laptop, even if i have it on my lap or on my bed or on any surface where the fans where to get covered.

Will it help cool even a little bit even though they’re covered?? can i keep them covered like that for a long time and still have my laptop cool??

my laptop has intake vents underneath…

No. Covering the fans will only cause the laptop to overheat. Covering the fans will also shorten the life of the fans, making them work harder than they should.

What you need to do is first, clean the cooling channel itself, by first, when the laptop is off, using a can of canned air, and blow out the dust that is between the internal fan and the cooling fins, by using short bursts into the EXHAUST. Then, use a bent paperclip to reach into the intake and pull out any huge chunks of dust/hair/dirt that you see. Then use short bursts into the INTAKE to blow out what it still in there.. and repeat the procedure.

Always keep a large book, or a binder, or a breakfast tray handy to use your laptop on, if you insist on using it in bed. The laptop should always be used on a hard surface that is at least as wide as the laptop.

end of line
