Using a laptop will make plenty of heat whether you’ve got it plugged in or not. Use the cooling pad if you’ve got one.

I’ve never used a cooling pad, but it sounds like a good idea. The most important thing about keeping a computer cool, laptop or desk PC, is to make sure that the vents for the case fan are not blocked. The case fan is a fan inside your computer that helps to draw in cool air and blow out the hot air, like a mini air conditioner. If the vents are blocked up or full of dust and debris, it can’t function as well as it should.

I have a DELL and an ACER laptop, they both have their intake vents underneath the case on the left side. If I feel underneath, I can feel the cool air being drawn in, make sure that your vents are getting air and you should be OK whether it’s plugged in or not.

If your gonna be playing games a lot, better keep it plugged in. You don’t want to get wasted while your searching around for your power cord. ;)
